Northern is passionate about community involvement. We have more community partnerships than any other train operator and we pride ourselves on always being at the forefront of new ideas and ways of doing things.
In 2007 we were named the 'National Example of Excellence' by Business in the Community for our work with rural communities. We were also the overall winner at ACoRP's national Community Rail Awards.
Come and join us when Heaton Depot will be open to the public to celebrate its railway heritage and also its place within the community.
We support community rail partnerships on 23 of our routes, with over 50 station partnerships.

We are proud of being at the heart of where railways began.
We have an ongoing programme of naming our trains after 'Great Northerners'.
