Newton Heath Depot Community Open Day - 16th September 2007

find out how we maintain the trains you travel on?
Would you like a good day
out for the family?
Since 1876, Newton Heath
maintenance depot ( Northern Rail's main maintenance depot in the North West )
has looked after the trains you travel on and provided employment opportunities
for many local people. On Sunday 16th September, we will be celebrating our
place within the local community by inviting people to come and see what we
do.
There will be lots to see and do including:
- Classic Traction
- Vintage cars and motorbikes
- A variety of musical acts
- Clowns and children's
entertainment
- Miniature steam trains
- Displays from British
Transport Police
- Local community groups
- Local history groups
- Railway memorabilia
- Ferret Racing
- Refreshments
- plus lots more............
Gates are open from 10:00 am and tickets may be
pre-booked (please phone Tom Fallows or Dave Mulhall on 0161 822 2204 or Bernard
Crick on 0796 1544929) or purchased on the day. Costs are £10 for a family
ticket, £5 for an adult and £2.50 for a child and include the cost of travel on
shuttle service from Manchester Victoria to Dean Lane station (which is directly
opposite the entry to the depot).

In addition, there will be a
Free Vintage Bus Service between Newton Heath Depot and the Manchester Museum of
Transport (separate entry arrangements to the museum).
