NORTHERN STRENGTHENS EXECUTIVE TEAM WITH TRIO OF APPOINTMENTS

Northern Rail today announced three appointments to its team of directors.

Lee Wasnidge and Matt Beeton join as Area Director West and Area Director North respectively while Adrian Thompson has been appointed Human Resources and Change Director.

Lee and Matt will be responsible for all aspects of Northern’s operations in their Areas. Area West covers Greater Manchester, Merseyside, Cheshire and Derbyshire and Area North comprises the North East, Lancashire and Cumbria. In addition to responsibility for the operation of train services and stations they will lead on relationships with Northern’s key stakeholders including GMPTE, Merseytravel, Nexus and local transport authorities.

Lee has vast experience in logistics and managing supply chains for companies including Iceland Foods, Asda and PepsiCo where he was General Manager, Northern Logistics.

Matt joins Northern from his previous role as Sales and Marketing Director for Bombardier. Prior to that he was Sales Director for the aerospace division of Rolls Royce.

Adrian will lead the company on all people management issues including employee relations. He has more than 20 years experience in HR, working in senior roles for companies and organisations in the public and private sector including Express Dairies, British Coal and Arla Foods plc where he was Group HR Director.
