Dave Roberts and his band pay homage to jazz legends at Alexander's Café Bar in Chester every month. On 7 July a Mid Cheshire Line Music Train will take you to hear them - with music and a glass of bubbly on the train to Chester, taxis arranged to and from Alexander's, ‘sausage and mash’ as you listen and more music on the train on the way back.
Nelson Peach, the North Cheshire folk trio, will play on the train on the way out and the way back. Their music is predominantly British traditional - plus traditional American material and the occasional ‘pop’ song.
This is a new venture for the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership's programme of Music Trains and it's been arranged in response to requests for jazz and for a Music Train from Altrincham and Knutsford to Chester.
It's a different arrangement from our regular Music Trains to Plumley because the music, food, taxis and glass of bubbly on the train make up a £9.95 package deal which you buy online from Alexander's. You will need to buy a train ticket as well, in the normal way.
To book the package go to http://www.alexanderslive.com/index.html and then the music listings for 7 July and click on buy advance ticket.
For train times from all stations on the line and sample fares from Knutsford go to the Music Trains section of the Mid Cheshire Community Rail Partnership website.
