SAVE MONEY WHEN YOU TRAVEL BY TRAIN TO THE GREAT YORKSHIRE SHOW

21st June 2010

Northern will provide thousands of extra seats for people travelling to the Great Yorkshire Show – adding more carriages to existing services and running additional trains on each day of the show (Tuesday 13 – Thursday 15 July).

The big boost in capacity will be provided on services to Harrogate from Leeds with free shuttle buses running from Harrogate station to the showground on the outskirts of the town.

Show-goers who travel by train can get £2 off their entry ticket if they buy a combined rail and show ticket in advance by calling Northern's specialised sales team on 0113 247 9659.

Steve Butcher, Area Director, Northern, said: “Roads round and about the event can get very busy due to the ever increasing popularity of the show.

“We are offering a practical, value for money alternative to taking the car. With discounted tickets and additional services, visitors can leave their cars at home and travel to the event without worrying about parking.”
