RAIL SERVICES RESUME BETWEEN CREWE - STOCKPORT - MANCHESTER
22nd June 2006
Northern rail services are set to resume between Crewe and Manchester Piccadilly via Wilmslow and Stockport from Monday 26 June.
The route has been closed since December 2005 to allow Network Rail to upgrade the signalling and renew track and lineside equipment. Further work is required to bring the new signalling system up to full capacity, and as such, Northern will be operating the following revised services:
One train every hour in each direction calling at all stations. The majority of these services will depart Crewe on the hour and Manchester Piccadilly at 2 minutes past the hour. However, customers are advised to check times before travelling. Additional services will operate during peak periods.
A service will operate between Wilmslow and Manchester Piccadilly via Styal and Manchester Airport, calling at all stations.
For detailed timetable information, customers are advised to visit www.northernrail.org or contact National Rail Enquiry Service on 08457 484950 or Northern's customer helpline on 0845 0000125. Timetables are also available from staffed stations along the route.
