Services & Facilities Team Interview

Hello my name is Graham

I have worked at Northern for the past 9 years; I work at the depot where the trains are maintained. I worked as a Sales Manager before I joined Northern.

To sum my role up I would say it’s enjoyable but challenging! Its different every day, new issues can crop up that I have not dealt with before.

Although my department don’t maintain the trains my team arevital in providing support for the train maintenance teams by maintaining the equipment, buildings and infrastructure that they use.My teamplay a critical part to keep trains well maintained and deliver them for service so that customers have a train to catch!

I love my role because it is challenging and I love that it’s sometimes unpredictable. We get well rewarded too, both financially and by the management team, I feel motivated to come to work and love my role.

As with most jobs there are some challenging parts. Because we are a small team we feel like we are juggling tasks sometimes, it’s just a matter of prioritising what is most important.

Being busy means the team is really close, we often and socialise outside of work, we have recently just thrown a 80s fancy dress party!
