Support Service Interview

Hello, I’m Cherie

I work in Customer Relations for Northern; I have done this for the last 9 months. Before working for Northern, I was employed in sales doing 12 hour days!

My role is very busy; no day is quiet in our office. Most of my day is spent on the telephone answering customer questions and responding to customer correspondence. There is always something new to deal with, no enquiry is the same! We have a big focus on putting ourselves in the shoes of our customers which is vital to understand what they have experienced.

I really feel like what I do makes a difference to Northern and our customers. Our team motto is to “do what we say we will do”, that is so important, especially when you are dealing with the public.

I really love working shifts, I know they don’t suit everyone but I like the time off, it means that I can do jobs before or after work. In my old job the days were so long so I love the shift variation in this role!

I really like the unexpected parts of my job, when you pick up the telephone you never know what the question is going to be, it’s very rewarding when you can help the person out. Sometimes it can be challenging as people can get frustrated on the telephone, but I just remind myself it’s because of the situation they are in, not me. It just make me more determined to try and sort their enquiry out so they go away happy, there is no better feeling!

The spare time around my shifts means I can indulge in my hobbies, horse riding and snorkelling!
