Hull
Europe's longest single span suspension bridge when opened, the Humber Bridge is an incredible feat of engineering. Another is the world's only submarium, The Deep, with a glass lift giving you a shark's eye view of marine life. Hull's museums include the Maritime Museum, and the former deep-sea trawler, Arctic Corsair. Retail therapy can be found at the stylish Princess Quay shopping centre.
Selby
Selby is dominated by its splendid Abbey. Founded in 1069, it was the first monastery in the North after the Norman Conquest and is today a parish church. A busy market is held every Monday.
Scarborough
With its castle, harbour, bays and sandy beaches, Britain's first ever seaside resort is still a big favourite. Animals at the Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary include seal pups, turtles and otters, and nearby Atlantis is Europe's biggest water park.
Bridlington
Bridlington has something for everyone with its bustling harbour, long sandy
beaches, seafront fairground rides. Pack your sea-legs for a boat trip to
Flamborough Head to see the lighthouse and soaring 400ft cliffs.
