Marsden
Located in the heart of the South Pennines, Marsden is steeped in history and surrounded by beautiful moorland. It is the home of Standedge Tunnel, the highest, longest and deepest canal tunnel in Britain, and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Marsden hosts a wide range of events, from Imbolc Celtic Fire Festival, Cuckoo Day and the annual Marsden Jazz Festival.
Penistone
Penistone is one of the highest market towns in the Pennines. Visit the Penistone Paramount Cinema, which dates back to 1915 and presents a wide range of live and big screen entertainment. Penistone Station also offers direct access to the Transpennine Trail.
Barnsley
Barnsley's 700 year old market boasts over 300 stalls, both indoors and out. On a cultural note, The Cooper Gallery offers a varied programme of contemporary art, and hand-made crafts for sale. Barnsley holds a year-round programme of events.
Hebden Bridge
Hebden Bridge offers the visitor much to see and do, from the National Trust's Gibson Mill to the Rochdale Canal, and if you love specialist arts and crafts shops, second hand bookshops and real ale pubs, then Hebden Bridge is the perfect location for you!
