Since the start of our franchise in 2004, we recognised the benefits of working together with communities to deliver improved services and we have worked hard to become an industry leader on practical, innovative, ways of working with the community.
Through a variety of initiatives such as our Northern Community Ambassadors Scheme and our sponsorship of Community Rail Partnerships, we have made a real difference to communities across the North of England.
The Northern Community Ambassadors scheme aims to promote the use of local rail services to communities around four stations across the north of England - Blackburn, Brierfield, Farnworth and Rochdale.
